Henderson

Henderson is the second largest city in Nevada, next to Las Vegas. It was formally incorporated in 1953, and its current population (as of 2021) is 322,000. Henderson has exceptional quality of living, and its unemployment rate is very low due to the great working and living conditions in this attractive city. Henderson’s real estate market ranges from very affordable homes in the older areas to massive super mansions being built at the higher elevations. Henderson is a wonderful city with many upscale communities full of amenities, including plenty of shopping plazas with every type of store and dining option you can think of. It is home to two of the most popular Station Casinos, Sunset Station and Green Valley Ranch. Both resort properties include a hotel, casino, day spa, movie theater, concert venues, and various high-end restaurants and bars. They are not just a favorite gambling and entertainment hotspot for locals, but also attract celebrities and other guests from around the world.

One of the best-loved shopping areas in the entire Las Vegas Valley is Henderson’s own District at Green Valley Ranch outdoor mall, which has a selection of luxury shopping, bars, and restaurants. Adjacent to the GVR Casino, this quaint retail destination has the look and feel of small-town boutique shopping but the quality and selection of legendary designer wares. It makes the perfect place to shop, meet friends, take a relaxing stroll, or spend a day being pampered.

Kitty-corner from The District is the new Dollar Loan Center arena, an enclosed multi-purpose venue with a capacity of 6,000, home to the Henderson Silver Knights AHL hockey team as well as the Henderson Symphony orchestra and first-rate music concerts of all genres. On the same property is the Paseo Verde Library and the Henderson Multigenerational Center and Aquatic Complex, the first facility in Southern Nevada designed to bring people of all generations together to enjoy the benefits of recreation.

Sunset Station Hotel and Casino also has a popular shopping area nearby — the Galleria Mall, one of the Valley’s best and most beautiful indoor shopping malls.

Downtown Henderson’s Water Street District is also a popular area, where the City of Henderson holds many community events throughout the year. This city core has seen recent development, and this is where you can find The Lifeguard Arena, the official practice facility for both the Silver Knights and the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights. It also has open skate opportunities where you can rent skates if you don’t have a pair, as well as hockey training camps and clinics.

When you want to leave the local oasis for some world-famous entertainment and dining options, you’re just a 20-minute drive from the famous Las Vegas Strip or the Harry Reid International Airport. Henderson also has easy access to both the I-215 and I-515 freeways, putting you 30 minutes or less from Red Rock Canyon, Lake Las Vegas, Lake Mead Recreation Area and the Hoover Dam. DragonRidge Country Club

DragonRidge Country Club is a breathtaking 18-hole championship golf course that was awarded Best Private Golf Course in southern Nevada and voted by locals as one of the best places to get married in Las Vegas. The impressive clubhouse and event facility is surrounded by more than 170 acres of rolling hills overlooking the Las Vegas skyline, and it has two popular restaurants with menus that feature both elegant and casual cuisine, with indoor and outdoor lounge areas. The main ballroom and party venues also boast some of the best city views in the valley.

Wildhorse Golf Club

The Wildhorse Golf Club offers perks to Henderson residents, such as discounts and frequent player rewards. The Country Club at Wildhorse also hosts weddings and special events, with a park-like setting overlooking the beautifully landscaped golf course and a Grand Ballroom that accommodates receptions for up to 200 guests. The clubhouse restaurant is open to all, featuring full breakfast and lunch, happy hour and weekly specials.

Desert Willow Golf Course

The Desert Willow Golf Course is the most challenging executive course in Southern Nevada. The award-winning family-friendly par-60 course offers a satisfying challenge for players of all skill levels. Carved out of the Black Mountain foothills, the 18-hole course features over 3,800 yards of hilly terrain, demanding sand traps, water and undulating greens.

Legacy Golf Club

The Legacy Golf Club boasts a championship golf course designed to offer the ultimate experience for golfers of all skill levels. The Grill @ Legacy Golf Club is a full-service casual restaurant, bar and patio that also hosts weddings, parties, meetings and other events for up to 200 guests in a beautiful park-like setting.

Cascata Golf Club

The regal mountain-backed Cascata Golf Club is a par-72 course featuring stunning vistas at every turn, lush fairways, lakes, streams and a 3,600-foot peak at Red Mountain. The 37,000-square-foot Tuscan-style clubhouse delivers Old World ambiance combined with unassuming luxury, and the dining room offers a diverse appetizing menu for every taste.

Henderson Recreation

Henderson is extremely accessible, but it also offers the intimate feeling of living in Anytown, USA. This city gives you access to enjoy plenty of parks and open-air recreation, including the Anthem East Trailhead, which leads to the impressive hiking and biking trails in the beautiful Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, and the McCullough Hills Trailhead which gives easy access to the 8-mile McCullough Hills Trail. From these elevated nature walks, you get spectacular views of mountain ranges and the Las Vegas skyline. There’s also the Loki Loop Trail which provides ample opportunity for playing around with your ATV.

The enormous 185-acre Sunset Park is one of the largest parks in the state of Nevada, featuring volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, disc golf and an entire network of walking and biking trails. In the middle of the park is the 14-acre Sunset Park Pond where you can feed the ducks, watch the fountains, dip your feet in the water and even go fishing.

Sunridge Park is another favorite, which features tennis courts, volleyball courts, baseball fields, multi-purpose fields, basketball courts, open grassy areas, picnic shelters with picnic tables, barbeques, playground and walking trails.

And neighborhood parks abound in every community and sub-community. Seven Hills has gorgeous parks, while Inspirada is practically focused on its central park system. Also check out the 53-acre Anthem Hills Park with Skatepark, ball fields, multi-purpose fields, basketball courts, open grassy areas, picnic shelters, barbecues, playground and walking trails.

Henderson Schooling

Henderson offers a wide choice of public, private and charter schools that are widely recognized as among the best schools in Clark County. There are 82 preschools, 61 elementary schools, 29 middle schools and 20 high schools. Whether your child is into STEM programs or the arts, you’ll find a magnet school that serves their needs. In fact, families from around the valley send their children to Henderson schools for the superior education opportunities
